When is the best time to go

We were in the Dominican Republic in December and the weather was wonderful. In the daytime up to + 30 ° С, and in the evening and at night - comfortable + 23 ° С. The sea water is pleasant, about + 27 ° С. Refreshes! At this time, it is almost always dry and sunny, rains and storms are rare. But we were lucky, and we once got into a tropical downpour - it was grandiose. Raging waves, hurricane wind - the most vivid impressions of the Dominican Republic! In general, we advise you to go on vacation to the Dominican Republic from October to April.

By the way, in different resorts the same temperature is felt differently. In Bayahibe (near La Romana) it was cooler and not as humid as in Las Galeras (Samana).

It is very romantic to meet sunsets there.

Wi-Fi is free and stable, there is animation. The meat is excellently prepared, the alcohol is of good quality. Minus - there is no private beach, but there are stairs to the sea. Transfer to the nearby sandy beach is free. "All inclusive" costs $ 90 for two per night. Try to find cheaper with the same good conditions!

Flights

The cost of travel to the Dominican Republic is high, largely due to air tickets. On Aviasales and Skyscanner, a flight from Moscow to Punta Cana and back in any season costs from 38,000 rubles - a lot, isn't it? And this is the minimum, usually from 40-50 thousand.

There are no regular direct flights from Russia, only with a transfer. But there are direct charters, and with them you can save money if you can catch a cheap one! There are tickets from Moscow and St. Petersburg for 12,000 and sometimes even for 6,000 rubles. True, there is a catch here: such prices are only in the spring (end of the season) and one way. Therefore, for 99.9% of people, they are not suitable.

There are shops in the Dominican Republic, but the choice there is rather scarce. There are not as many supermarkets (supermercado) as we are used to. There are no large supermarkets in remote villages like Las Galeras, and going to the store there is generally a sadness. It seems there are goods, but there is absolutely nothing to buy.

We love solitude, tranquility and loneliness. Therefore, we chose small resorts - tiny Bayahibe near La Romana and remote Las Galeras on Samana, with kilometers of wild chic beaches.

But most tourists prefer large, noisy resorts with developed infrastructure. According to reviews, they hold the palm Punta Cana and Cap Cana... Actively developing La Romana and Juan Dolio... Small lagoon Boca Chica with a long coral reef, snorkeling fans have chosen.
