Summer is just around the corner, which means it's time to think about a vacation and rest in Crimea on a sandy beach, it's best to get ready to start with an answer to the question of how to get to Crimea and, most importantly, what is the cheapest way to get there on your own and how quickly. In general, I will consider all the questions in this article to make life easier for a tourist, a beginner in this business, well, empirically, we will find out which way is better.

I'll take Moscow as the starting point, I'll take Simferopol as the final point, and from there, you can travel around the cities of the peninsula on your own, that is, take a taxi or wait for a bus. So, how can you get from Moscow to Crimea and how to get there or fly? We begin to understand and perhaps start with the most optimal options (and there are no other ways).

The best ways to get from Moscow:

  • By plane
  • By train
  • By car through the Kerch Strait by ferry
  • Over the bridge (about this method, a separate material with nuances and costs for the road on its own by car)

How to get to Crimea by plane?

I'll start with the plane, the easiest way to get to Simferopol this summer is by plane. We fly from Domodedovo, every day with different airlines, and book a cheap Aviasales ticket.

The approximate cost of an air flight Moscow - Simferopol will be about 6,500 rubles (depending on the month) per person for the 2021 season, the flight time will be about 2.5 hours. In my opinion, the fastest and most inexpensive way to get to Crimea from Moscow this summer is by plane.

  • Flight cost per month:

In the booking widget (located above), the most optimal prices for flights from Russian cities to Simferopol are now displayed, I advise you to immediately book seats, since prices can change almost every hour.

How to get by train to Crimea from Moscow?

The ticket price will be approximately 7,000 rubles for the summer 2021 season. Dzhankoy station is the central point of the Crimea peninsula, from this station you can get to any point in Crimea by taxi and buses, as well as trolleybuses.

If you liked the trains, then from the Dzhankoy station with a transfer from Moscow you can get to Evpatoria, Kerch, Sevastopol, Feodosia, Bakhchisarai, Saki, Simferopol, trains do not go to the southern part of Crimea, since there is already mountainous terrain.

I recommend taking the bus. From the bus station, by the way, you can get to Simferopol by a trolleybus, though it takes a long ride, it is better to take a taxi, and you can get there inexpensively if you pretend to be a regular tourist and drop the price to a minimum when bargaining.

How to get to Crimea from Moscow by car?

By car, you can get to Crimea in comfort and usefully, unforgettable photos and as much time as you need to see the sights along the way.

To get your bearings, you need to take the E105 / M29 / M18 highway towards Sovetskaya Square (Simferopol). Travel time by car will be approximately 17 hours without stops and 1400 kilometers of the distance covered.

Now let's talk about the cost of the road. If you decide to get to Crimea by car, you will need about 5000 rubles for gasoline one way and plus food about 300 rubles per person at a time. Next, we need to cross the Kerch Strait by ferry, more on that.

What do you need to travel through the Kerch Strait?

To travel through the Kerch Strait, you need first of all restraint and calm nerves, because you will have to stand in line for a very long time, usually from several hours to a day. The ferry departs from the port "Kavkaz", as for the timetable, it is conditional, as soon as the ferry is full, it departs immediately.

Prices for crossing the Kerch Strait:

  • An adult ticket costs 162 rubles
  • Child ticket will cost you 81 (ages 6 - 12)

Car transportation by ferry:

  • If the car is no more than 4 meters long, the cost will be 1190 rubles
  • If the length of the car is from 4 to 5 meters, the cost is 1700 rubles
  • More than 5 meters, the cost is 2500 rubles

In general, getting to Crimea from Moscow by car will be a difficult task with large financial investments, but the impressions of the trip will be indescribable.

As for the fastest way to get to your destination, the plane is the better way, and you can even manage to save money and buy tickets without any problems compared to trains.
